Guanfacine

De registratiehouder heeft om economische redenen dit product uit de handel genomen [1].

Er is in Nederland geen ander handelspreparaat met hetzelfde werkzame bestanddeel beschikbaar.

Guanfacine is een centraal aangrijpend antihypertensivum, maar wordt niet of nauwelijks meer als antihypertensivum voorgeschreven [2].

In [3 4] is terug te vinden dat guanfacine wel wordt toegepast bij ADHD. Voor dit off-label gebruik kan waarschijnlijk clonidine (eveneens een centraal aangrijpend antihypertensivum) worden toegepast. Dit is nog in onderzoek [5].
